AKI is common and we know the drill, send off the bloods, urine and request an ultrasound. But with all things we do routinely, algorithmically even, we might forget to stop and think about why we are doing what we do. And yet it’s so satisfying to know the ‘why’ - so USS in AKI - purely to check for obstruction…and stay tuned for part 2 where we delineate USS versus CT in AKI.
