Rich Formidoni from Korg showed us a lot of cool stuff while he was here, including the MicroSampler and the Kaossilator Pro. Next up, the Korg Wavedrum, or rather, the recent redesign of the Korg Wavedrum. As you probably know by now, the Wavedrum is a different kind of electronic percussion instrument. Instead of generating sound by triggering samples, it uses a piezo transducer and software modeling to translate your actual playing into organic instrument simulations.
If you're confused about what that last sentence is trying to get at, just check out this video walkthrough of the Korg Wavedrum. Rich covers everything from the built-in loops and PCM samples to how to change the tunable, swappable Remo Fiberskin head.
