The Dutch Golden Age is the period in Dutch history roughly spanning the 17th century when the Netherlands was a world leader in art, science and trade. In this online floristry class, we give you a brief overview of this period of art history and tutor Yeon Hee demonstrates her interpretation of Dutch Masters paintings through three distinctive Dutch Master inspired floral projects.
THE TUTOR
Yeon Hee trained as a florist in Seoul, South Korea, after obtaining a Masters degree in Interior Design and working for a major cruise ship building company. She moved to London to pursue her passion for floristry where she worked on contracts and as an Event Manager for a high-end London florist, designing flower installations for some of London's most prestigious hotels.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
In this online flower course, we’ll inspire you to look beyond floristry for inspiration. We’ll give you a brief overview of the history of the Dutch Golden Age and demonstrate how 17th Dutch art inspires floristry today.
Tutor Yeon Hee will guide you through both the conceptual and technical aspects of creating three distinctive floral designs inspired by Dutch Masters paintings. By the end of the class you will have an understanding of contemporary floral design; floristry techniques and mechanics, and an insight into how we at LFS approach our projects.
THE CLASS
This online floristry class consists of 10 modules, which can be viewed consecutively or can be paused at any time. The downloadable workbook provides supplementary content to the class with step-by-step instructions for each project; a list of materials used and the costs of the ingredients as well.

YEON HEE LEE
인테리어 디자인 석사 학위를 취득한 후에 크루즈 선박 회사에서 근무 후 서울에서 플로리스트로 교육을 받습니다. 그녀는 꽃꽂이에 관한 열정을 가지고 런던으로 이주하여 다양한 플라워 프로젝트 및 런던의 유명 꽃가게에서 이벤트 매니저로 활동했습니다. 런던의 최고급 호텔의 전시 꽃꽂이 디자인을 다 수 진행했습니다.
수업 내용
꽃 이상의 다양한 소재에서 디자인 영감을 찾는 방법을 소개합니다. 뿐만아니라 네덜란드 황금기 예술에 관한 전반적인 소개 및 17세기 예술 작품이 오늘날 꽃꽂이 디자인에 어떤 영향을 주고 있는지에 관하여 살펴봅니다.
17세기 네덜란드 황금기 예술 작품에서 영감을 받은 컨셉과 기법으로 총 세 가지 다른 꽃꽂이 시연을 진행합니다. 수강생 여러분은 수업의 후반부에서 컨템포러리 꽃꽂이 디자인에 관한 개념은 물론 다양한 꽃꽂이 기법과 메커니즘에 관하여 이해할 수 있습니다. 또한, 런던 플라워 스쿨(LFS)에서 추구하는 프로젝트 스타일과 방법에 또한 알아볼 수 있습니다.
진행 방법
