You have heard the phrase, but what exactly is The Furman Advantage (TFA)? In October 2016, Furman University launched The Furman Advantage, an ambitious vision that guarantees every student an unparalleled education. In this presentation, Interim Provost Beth Pontari will explain the goals of TFA and the integrated four-year pathway which is central to achieving this vision. Michelle Horhota, Associate Dean for Mentoring and Advising will provide a brief overview of how Furman uses mentoring and advising to encourage students to think intentionally about their classroom learning, engaged learning experiences, and career exploration and preparation across the four-year pathway. And Lauren Payne, Assistant Vice President, Career & Professional Development, will share information on student outcomes thus far.
