Ilupeju is an area under Odi olowo/ Ojuwoye local Council development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Nigeria; a large community that shares its boundaries with areas such as Mushin, Oshodi, Obanikoro, Anthony down through some parts of Ikorodu road. It consists of popular streets such as Town planning way, Ilupeju bypass, Coker road down through Tinubu road, Association Avenue, Ilupeju Industrial Avenue, amongst others.
The name Ilupeju means converging point for people and that name came into existence as a result of several communities meeting at a place for deliberations. The name Ilupeju was not singlehandedly chosen by a person but was born out of share love and cooperation that existed between the converging communities.
Ilupeju has proved to be quite peaceful and welcoming; a choice destination for most expatriates working in Lagos most especially the Indians and Chinese.
Ilupeju boasts of a very robust Indian community to make mention of the Indian School, Temple and recreational spots within the community.
