It's because both of these platforms purchase the domain and license it to you meaning, you do not own your own website domain, they do. And if you want to transfer to another hosting provider, they can turn your website off for up to sixty days!
Be smart and purchase from namecheap.com instead. they're cheaper and you know, you'll own your domain.
