Some 98,000 Ukrainians entered Poland on March 1, officials said, bringing past 450,000 the number who have entered since Russia invaded on February 24.
Following a meeting between UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Tuesday, the Polish Chancellery of the Prime Minister said, “Ukraine needs our immediate action and the most practical help. Poland is actively helping by providing military aid to strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities and resilience in defending its territorial integrity.”
Refugees fleeing from Ukraine to Romania gathered in Chernivtsi Oblast to pass through Siret border crossing on February 26 and 27.

At the Slovakian border women and children moved through a border checkpoint as thousands of people fled the country following Russia’s invasion.
Slovakia police said on March 1 that around 12,000 people had arrived in the country in the previous 24 hours. 54,304 people had crossed into Slovakia from Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
