Quebec’s Premier François Legault, joined by Dr. Horacio Arruda, Quebec director of National Public Health and Ms. Danielle McCann, Quebec’s health and social services minister held the daily coronavirus update on Wednesday.
Premier Legault announced two new deaths due to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in Quebec to 33.
He also announced 499 new cases of COVID-19, with a province-wide total of 4,611 cases.
Premier Legault asked Quebec residents not to visit senior homes in some parts of the province to contain the spread of the virus and protect the vulnerable, saying “it’s a question of life or death.”
Quebec’s Public Safety Ministry announced on Wednesday more police- enforced restrictions on travel between parts of the province as deaths topped 33.
On Tuesday, the province announced it has three to four days before running out of some personal protective equipment (PPE), but the government has orders that will arrive in the coming days and will receive some equipment from Ontario's stock after talking to Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
