Dubai to introduce futuristic new driverless pod rail system for a hassle-free travel
Floc Duo Rail is a self-driving electric pod system designed to provide a comfortable and convenient way to travel in Dubai. This sustainable transportation solution is based on the Duo Rail Concept, which provides an affordable and environmentally friendly way to reduce congestion in the city.
The self-driving pods are capable of operating both above and below ground. These pods can travel on dual tracks in urban areas. The pods can travel directly between two points and are capable of transporting multiple passengers to different areas including the Dubai Metro.
Each Floc pod, with its unique bubble-like shape, can accommodate up to 16 passengers. It can run independently or be connected to other pods for different routes. The chain of pods can serve areas such as Dubai Marina, Downtown, and nearby neighborhoods.
Director of Rail Maintenance at RTA, Hassan Al Mutawa shared that the duo-pods rail system is currently under the testing Phase in Dubai.
He explained that "These pods or capsules" can be used to transport passengers between two locations or connect them with other public transportation areas such as the Dubai Metro.
