The families of the three mineworkers who remain trapped in the belly
of Lily Mine in Barberton, Mpumalanga, remain hopeful that their loved
ones will one day be brought to surface.
Pretty Nkambule, Yvonne Mnisi and Solomon Nyirenda were in a lamp room
container that collapsed into a sinkhole on this day eight years ago.
ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba, who delivered a keynote address at the
commemoration held at the mine, slammed the government for failing the
mineworkers and their families.
