Exploring Tunja, Colombia: A Walk Around The City + History
Last week, I spent a couple of days in Tunja. I remember passing through the city last year and thought, ¨there is nothing to see there; why should I go?¨
Then I started researching and wanted to check it out. First, I must say that I am not one for big cities and prefer to avoid them at all costs, but since everyone always talks about the other capital cities such as Medellín, Manizales, Bogotá, and I have as well, so I went.
First, I have to preface I have a sweet spot for the region of Boyacá and assumed that I would strongly dislike Tunja and see it as ¨another city¨. Well, it is another city, but wow. The week I went, there was an artisanal market for the local farmers to sell their goods. I saw those natives from the region, basket weaving and turning sheep fur into clothing.
