My good friend Heather wanted to see Denmark and I wanted to meet the rest of my Danish family, so we took one epic trip together that made all our Danish dreams come true!
The highlights for Heather were visiting Studio Arhoj and the Designmuseum, and the highlights for me, after finally meeting ALL of my cousins spouses, children and even grandchildren (except one born just after we left, dang it!) were walking through Christiania and learning that the Danes have 9,000-year-old dog turds in their national museum!
Heather rented us the most perfect flat in Copenhagen that we never wanted to leave, but we had more cousins to see in Jutland, where my cousin Flemming and his wife Lone let us stay in their cottage in Houstrup,. There we got to take glorious walks on the sand with their dog Max, and I met a super cool black banana slug on my short strolls from the cottage.
It was truly a trip of a lifetime, a trip of two lifetimes, in fact, and I could not be more grateful that my Danish cousins were so generous, flexible and welcoming to both Heather and me. That was super cool, and tusind tak to all of you! (Yes, I wrote "tusinde tak: in the video, which is not correct!)
