Counting of votes started at 8 am in 7 district headquarters (Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Dausa, Tonk, Nagaur, Udaipur and Dungarpur). First of all, counting of postal ballots was completed. After this, counting of EVM votes has started. BJP is leading on 2 seats, Congress on 3 seats.
The seats have become vacant due to Congress's Murarilal Meena from Dausa seat, Harish Meena from Deoli-Uniyara, Brijendra Singh Ola from Jhunjhunu, Hanuman Beniwal from Khinvsar and MLA Rajkumar Roat from Chaurasi assembly seat becoming MPs. The seats are vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Amritlal Meena from Salumber and Congress MLA Zuber Khan from Ramgarh.
