What you might think is the queen, might actually be a drone. Drones are the male bees in the hive and are quite a bit larger than the worker bees. Did you know that the drone bees get kicked out of the hive as winter approaches? They don't work, they don't have a job like the rest of the bees in the hive, they don't make honey and they can't sting.
