October 26, 2024, marks a historic day for India as Rachel Gupta from Punjab clinches the Miss Grand International crown, making her the first Indian to achieve this prestigious title. Representing India with a Goddess Ganga-inspired national costume, Rachel dazzled the stage in Bangkok, Thailand, where she was crowned by outgoing titleholder Luciana Fuster from Peru.Rachel, a 5'10" model, actress, and entrepreneur from Jalandhar, captivated fans and judges alike. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, she was a crowd favorite and had previously won the Miss Grand India 2024 title at the Glamanand Supermodel India competition in Jaipur. She also took home awards for Miss Top Model, Miss Beauty with a Purpose, Best Rampwalk, and Best National Costume.The runners-up included Christine Juliane Opiaza from the Philippines, Thae Su Nyein from Myanmar, Safiétou Kabengele from France, and Talita Hartmann from Brazil.
