Ryanair chief Michael O'Leary has called the new UK quarantine rules, which require plane passengers to quarantine for 14 days, as 'idiotic', 'ineffective' and 'non-science based'.

When asked whether airlines are being singled out, O'Leary said he believed the government has started to 'make things up as they go along' and that other countries will start to lift their restrictions in the upcoming weeks.
