Calls are being made for smart measures to help tourists coming to Clare reduce their pollution and carbon footprint.
The EPA's latest report has ranked Clare County Council 18th out of 31 local authorities for its effort to tackle air, noise, water and waste contamination.
Clare performed strongly in areas such as illegal dumping and dealing with agricultural run off, however the countywide performance of air and noise pollution measures were rated as 'moderate'
