Creating a new history, Pope Francis opened the second Holy Door of the Jubilee of Hope 2025 inside the prison of the New Rebibbia Complex in Rome on December 26. This is the first time in the Jubilee tradition that a prison door is being opened as a Holy Door. Explaining the significance of choosing a prison door, the Pope said, “Everyone, both inside and outside, could open the door of their hearts and understand that hope does not disappoint.” He knocked on the door six times before opening the door and crossed the threshold on foot. Later, the Pope celebrated a Mass attended by some inmates and their families.
