-LUANG PRABANG VLOG-
Today we woke up super early to witness the Alms giving ceremony ([ Ссылка ]). From what I understand, the Buddhist people of Laos give offering (rice, biscuits etc) to the monks and it's supposed to grant them good luck...and in return the monks receive their meals for the day. From what I'd read on TripAdvisor ([ Ссылка ]) it has a bit of a bad reputation of being a spectacle. Anyway, we went along and it was really cool to see! We may have been in a quiet area, we were opposite the tourist information centre, but didn't see anything disrespectful or bad like the tripadvisor reviews.
After a quick nana nap we were up again and found our way to Kuang Si Waterfalls. I recommend taking a 'truck taxi,' it was 40,000 kip each (about $7 NZD) plus 20,000 entrance fee. The taxi gave us 4 hours at the falls which was just enough time to hike to the top, have a swim then grab some lunch afterwards.
Taking the taxi was also a good way to meet people! We met another couple, Grace & Tom, and a few solo travellers that we met for drinks at Utopia after a fun day at the waterfalls. I have to say it was one of our best days of the trip so far!
