"I still feel pretty in a dress, but powerful in a suit"" (Blythe Baird). Feminism and femininity, as concepts, often seem to clash and sometimes even feel mutually exclusive. Stanislava liked to talk about her own struggle with them, with her own gender expression, and her experiences as someone trying to be both. We live in a time when identities and movements are being constantly questioned and redefined, and neither femininity nor feminism are exceptions. This speech is a reflection on the feminist movement, some of its effects, and a possible way of moving forward through it." Stanislava is a first year studnet at UWC Adriatic and is from Slovakia. She has a lot of passions, including literature, philosophy, mathematics, and theatre. She's always been interested in the issue of women's rights and more generally feminism. In her talk she reflects on what feminism means to her in, on its relation to the idea of what "femininity" is or 'should be' and on the way forward in the fight for eqality. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
