The 2015 Santa Cruz County RTC Passenger Rail Feasibility Study identified this train model for use in five of seven service scenarios.
Quieter than some of the cars in the video, it's very efficient. By the time we deploy rail transit, however, battery electric rail cars may be cost competitive.
