It’s been another tough year for the largest stock exchange in Africa. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange weathered the Steinhoff scandal as new competition came into view. There have been questions raised over the JSE as the awards for the best-run exchange in the world appear to have fallen away. The head of JSE Nicky Newton-King believes all will be much better in 2019.
