💦 ‘Splish splash, I was taking a bath‘ - heading into the weekend with a song in our hearts… 💦

🐘 Elephant Charley is loving his new larger enclosure and all the enrichment it brings – more space to roam, more trees 🌳 to feast on, and of course, a pool and the opportunity to take mud baths. The team also added large sand piles into Charley’s new enclosure as a form of enrichment. Charley seems to be enjoying this as he can use the sand piles to dust himself, or even for a comfortable place to lie down and have a nap 💤. The sandy slope also helps older elephants stand up easier after nap time. While elephants can sleep standing up, some elephants do prefer to lie down to sleep.

With all of these at his disposal in his new species-appropriate retirement home, what MORE could an elephant want!
