Meet our two newest #zooborns - elegant crested tinamou chicks! The curious chicks are busy exploring their home inside our Faces of the Rainforest exhibit alongside their dad, Burt. Although these elegant crested tinamou are only adorning little tufts atop their heads now, their species is named for their long, forward-looking crest which will develop as they grow.
#FunFact male tinamous incubate the eggs and raise their young. Our two little ones with remain with their dad for some time, becoming independent by three to four months of age. 😍
