In this video, I discuss how I determine the actual write speed of the SanDisk Cruzer Glide 3.0 256GB flash drive given my usage requirements. I explain why the drive shows 50MB/second write speeds in some tests, but not all tests... the tests which match my usage requirements show a write speed of about 25MB/second.

...the introduction to that other vid also provides a good brief high-level intro on some of the weak characteristics of MLC memory used in consumer-grade drives, weaknesses that hardware within the USB flash drives themselves helps overcome. This extra effort is part of what creates the overall read/write times of these drives.
