It will start being streamed online at 11-thirty PM Korea time.
Suwon, Incheon, Daejeon and Gwangju canceled their bell-ringing ceremonies.
Busan canceled its annual fireworks display.
Popular tourist spots for viewing the first sunrise of the year will also be cordoned off.
Many east coast beaches and mountain peaks are turning away visitors.
People who wish to see the first sunrise of 2022, can watch it live on the Korea National Park Service YouTube channel.
