The story of the Tower of Babel is found in the Bible, in the book of Genesis. According to the story, the people of the earth decided to build a tower that would reach to the heavens, in order to make a name for themselves. God, however, was displeased with this, and confused their language so that they could no longer understand each other, causing them to scatter across the earth.
There have been some comparisons made between the story of the Tower of Babel and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern times. Some have argued that the development of AI represents a similar attempt to reach for the heavens, or to achieve god-like abilities through technology. Others have argued that the rapid development of AI and the increasing complexity of the technology has the potential to create a similar kind of linguistic confusion, as different groups of people and organizations develop their own "languages" or ways of using AI.
