Whitelee Windfarm in Scotland

In projects concerning energy transition, nature conservation and people´s concerns have to be taken into account equally. Added value has to be created for those affected and acceptance increased. Creative and complex solutions are required to achieve a positive balance for all stakeholder groups – climate protection, nature conservation, economy and population. A great example for a best practice is shown in the Whitelee wind farm project near Glasgow (Scotland). The Whitelee wind farm was listed as part of the EU's "Intelligent Energy – Europe" programme and awarded the "Queens Award for Enterprise, Sustainable Development".
