Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz was Prime Minister of Poland (1996-1997), Foreign Minister of Poland (2001-2005) and also served as the speaker of the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish parliament). Along with Leszek Miller, he signed the Accession Treaty that paved way to Polish membership in the European Union. Cimoszewicz returned to politics during 2007 parliamentary election, when he won a Senate seat as an independent candidate.
Andrey Kozyrev was the first Foreign Minister of Russia (1991-1996) under President Boris Yeltsin. Kozyrev graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) with a Ph.D. in History. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR in 1974, and held various posts including Head of the Department of International Organizations. (CONTEXT)
