Now, when it comes to GOOD FREE VPN providers, it’s hard to find a better option than Proton VPN. Yeah, I know it has a paid version, and that’s why I’m recommending it: Proton can afford to run a free version. If a VPN is ONLY free, that just means it pays off expenses by selling your information to advertisers. Proton VPN doesn’t, to the point where it's written in the no-logs policy, which was audited for legitimacy by the way. Spoiler alert: you won’t find this guarantee of privacy in any other free VPN.

Further discussing security, I need to bring up this VPN’s strengths: encryption, the kill switch, and IP leak protection. These features are identical to the ones you’ll find in Proton VPN’s premium version, and they are on par with the top of the market. Of course, being a free version, Proton VPN has limitations - it’s only possible to connect to a few hundred servers in a limited country pool. I can only use the free version on one device at once as well, which is a bit annoying for anyone with a PC and a phone. Can’t be that many people.

Of course, I know ProtonVPN doesn’t sound that good to you - it can’t stream or torrent! That’s why Windscribe is here as my top 2 FREE VPN FOR CHROME, desktop, and mobile - it covers all platforms! The best part - Windscribe works with streaming! Though I have to be honest, you won’t be able to access any streaming platform with Windscribe - just a few and it might take a couple of tries. I know it did for me.

That said, with the WireGuard protocol included, Windscribe is possibly the fastest free VPN for streaming you can get. It also covers 11 different countries, more than any other free option. You are free to use that one free account with any number of devices as well. Unfortunately, there are still downsides to it - Windscribe has a pretty restrictive 10 GB monthly limit, so you won’t be able to use it for streaming all the time. The security is also not perfect. While Windscribe uses all the modern encryption conventions, and has a great Kill Switch and leak protection, its logging policy leaves much to be desired. Paired with the semi-private jurisdiction of Canada and a no-logs policy that lacks audits, I can’t recommend Windscribe for anything privacy-related.
