How To Get GERMAN CITIZENSHIP In 3 Years / 5 Years
Germany is facing a huge shortage of skilled workers and to attract more immigrants they are now reducing the time to get German citizenship.
Earlier it used to be 8 years (in some cases 7 and 6 years), but now by the end of this year the law will be completely in practice where you can get the citizenship in 5 and 3 years.
The requirements-
By Naturalization-
Long term residence permit - for 6-8 years previously NOW 5 & 3 years
Leben in Deutschland test
Language certificate - B1 for 5 years/ C1 for 3 years
Sufficient funds
No criminal record
Prove your identity
Extraordinary work in professional life and voluntary work in case of 3 years
Should not be on Arbeit Losen Geld level 2
Right of blood -
Any parents or both parents are German
Right of soil -
One or both parents lived in Germany and has a PR now for more than 5 years (Previously 8) kids born after that will be German citizens.
Advantages-
Travel to 190+ countries visa free
Live and work in EU - work in other countries like swiss, ireland and UK
Voting rights
Benefits of EU countries
Beneficial for kids in the long run if fee is introduced for international students
Can go and live outside Germany (More than 6 months) i.e. india for long, go and live in other countries like Canada, USA, UK, Dubai, without worrying about career and job or PR.
What happens to your Indian citizenship -
Germany will now allow dual citizenship but India does not allow
Indian passport - Give up and take OCI card
Can you call parents after passport - NO
Cost of getting the passport -
Application fee- 255€ / B1- 140 / Life in Germany exam - 25
Total - 420
Fee is 51 euros for each child under 16
