My Redneck outboard motor
New Harbor Freight lawn mower 5.5hp vertical engine mounted on a lower unit of an old 3hp Johnson. The lawn mower engine has 4 in. shaft, so I have to raise it by that much which worked fine for air ventilation, but it needed a lot of leveling and adjustment and centering the shaft right on top of the crank shaft of the lower unit. The connection between the two was a big task too. Because its a lawn mower engine it has a brake leaver that has to be pulled back all the way to start the engine and keep it going. I had to design a special contraption for that purpose.
