We always have high hopes when we get permission to metal detect at old virgin ground, especially when the ground has incredible age to it. But this spot blew away anything we even hoped for! We first got access to this colonial farm last week and right near the end of the day we pinned down the original 1650's farm house location. 1700's Silver Reale, Liberty Cap half-cent, and several other large coppers were late day surprises but then the sun went down. On this return trip we spent the whole day at the old homesite area and as incredible as the day 1 coins are were, day two just knocked our socks off! This place was just nuts!
