Date filmed: 12/09/2019
Location: A30 London Road, Sunningdale
Trains: 2 Class 458s (South Western Railway) - 2:11
A rather massive level crossing located on the very busy A30 just beside Sunningdale Station within Berkshire. There are four road lanes in total that cross this level crossing - two lanes each side of a traffic island, and it is massively busy with road traffic. There are two LED wigwags each side, with one of those situated on the traffic island per side, and there are also 2 additional LED pedestrian light modules to warn pedestrians where there are no wigwags. Furthermore, there are very odd stands at the ends of each of the four barriers at this very angled crossing which clatter a lot as the barriers raise and lower, and these are accompanied by four yodalarms which are far too quiet for such a busy road.
The clip of the pedestrian light in operation in this video was extracted from another closure filmed at this crossing to give a better visual representation of it working - I filmed four closures and trains in total on this date.
Thanks for watching!
