🌸Hi there! Welcome or welcome back! I’ve been getting questions about the irritation, dryness, and flaking that happens during tretinoin retinization so these are my tips to calm your skin and mitigate any irritation. Retinoids won’t have the same effect on everyone’s skin as everyone’s skin is different. Some people will experience more irritation than others and it’s important to listen to your skin and not rush the process. Increasing your retinoid use gradually over time rather than diving in with regular use, can be so helpful with minimizing irritation.
Tretinoin is a prescription topical. As an Aesthetician, I’ve worked with many clients who use Tretinoin, and I also use it myself. These are tips I’ve learned though working In a medical practice, working with clients who use tretinoin, and using it on myself. However, I am not a doctor. If you’re interested in starting tretinoin or if you’re worried that your irritation is too excessive do reach out to your dermatologist to discuss your treatment.
