The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has issued a Blue Alert for Samuel Q Edwards, wanted by Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and TBI for attempted criminal homicide and evading arrest.

A Blue Alert is used for the rapid dissemination of information to the public to assist in apprehending violent criminals who kill or seriously injure law enforcement officers in the line of duty or to aid in locating a missing officer where foul play is involved.

Metro Police say the 34-year-old suspect is wanted for attempted first-degree murder in a shooting that injured a Hendersonville Police officer Monday night during a pursuit.

The suspect abandoned his van on Gibson Drive in Madison and left on foot, according to MNPD. Police say he is armed with two guns.
