這是我剪輯過的最困難的影片之一！過程中，回顧這我們創造的回憶，以及我們在這個 YouTube 頻道上分享的點點滴滴……哇！男兒有淚不輕彈！當我們準備離開台灣，和過了13年的鄉村生活，搬到美國時，家人中每個人都充滿了淚水和不捨。
我們的想法是，搬到美國的行動越多，速度就會越慢，過程也會越艱難。以我們家七個女兒來說，衣服真的很多。但大部分衣服適合台灣的溫暖氣候，而我們即將搬到寒冷的美國西北太平洋地區。因此，我們把很多衣物和小型家用品贈送給朋友和家人。（能跟別人分享物品，而不是丟掉，真的很好。）
我們將大部分電器和家具搬到了台中 metsä 的辦公公寓，留了一些家具和工具給房東和鄰居，回收了好幾車隨機的東西，通過台灣郵局寄送了超過16箱、每箱20公斤的物品，最後把我們要帶到美國的物品裝進了17件大行李、9件手提行李和10個背包……以及一輛嬰兒推車。
在這樣的時刻，你會開始真正思考關於生命和死亡，以及在人生旅途中你帶著什麼。“輕裝上路”似乎是一個不錯的原則，但同時，我們喜歡積累讓我們快樂或覺得有用的東西。而其中許多東西確實是祝福。但如果我們不小心，就會收集到太多東西，導致雜亂占據我們的生活，使得決策變得困難，或需要花大量時間整理一切。
我們擁有的物品並非天生是壞的，它們是我們生活的殘留，是我們去過的地方、認識的人留下的痕跡。
對我們而言，儘管過去幾個月非常混亂、情緒化且疲憊，但當我們走遍家裡和院子的每個角落，篩選所有擁有的物品，並努力清潔房子讓房子時，這是一段很好的反思時光。我們回顧了在台灣這裡不同的季節和事件，以及過去13年來上帝對我們的恩典與祝福。
上帝真是對我們太好了，我們相信，即使我們拔起根基、道別、流淚並離開我們深愛的台灣時，上帝依然與我們同在，並且永不離棄我們。願主祝福這片土地——我（Stephen）深深熱愛的地方，也是我的妻子（Christy）和我們孩子們的誕生地。
感謝您讓我們與您分享這小小的一部分故事。我們希望這能激勵您更加愛上帝，愛身邊的人，並盡情地活出生命的每一天。雖然道別時充滿悲傷，但我們知道上帝看顧著我們每一個人。我們期待有一天能回來，再次探訪我們所愛的人和地方！

(Sorry for the delayed videos lately, we are trying to get settled into our new home and life in America, and there is a lot to do! Next week's video will be our first video shot in an America (as a whole family), so please stay tuned!)
This was one of the most difficult videos I've ever edited! Looking back at the memories we made, and what we've posted on this Youtube channel... wow! A man's not supposed to cry! There were many tears and emotions from all of us as we prepared to leave our home of 13 years in the Taiwan countryside and move to the USA. About the move... ..
The idea was that the more we take on our move to the US, the slower and harder it will be. With 7 daughters, we have a lot of clothes. But most of these clothes are suited for life in the warm climate of Taiwan, and we would be moving to the cold Pacific Northwest. So we gave away a lot of our clothes and smaller household items to friends and family. (It feels nice when others can use your stuff and you don't have to throw it away.)
We moved most of our appliances and furniture to our metsä office apartment in Taichung, left a few pieces of furniture and tools for our landlord and neighbors, recycled truckloads of random things, shipped over 16 x 20kg boxes through the Taiwan post office, and finally, packed what we would take to America into 17 pieces of large luggage, 9 carry-on bags, and 10 backpacks... all that and a baby stroller.
It's in moments like these that you start to really think about life and death, and about what you carry with you on the journey of life. 'Travel light,' seems like a good principle to follow, but at the same time, we like to accumulate things that make us happy, or things that we find useful. And many of these things are truly a blessing. But if we're not careful, we will get collect so many things that the clutter can take over our lives, making it hard to make decisions, or requiring great amounts of time to keep everything organized.
The items that we have are not inherently bad, they are a remnants of the life we have lived, places we have visited, people that we know.
In our case, even though these past few months were chaotic, and emotional, and tiring as we went through every corner of our home and property- filtering through every thing we owned, and trying to make the home clean for our landlord the next residents- it was a good time of reflection. We reflected on the different seasons and events of our life here in Taiwan, and of all God's mercies and blessings during these past 13 years.
God is so good to us, and we believe the He is with us, even as we tear up our roots, say our goodbyes, shed some tears, and leave behind our beloved Taiwan. God is with us and will never leave us nor forsake us. May the Lord bless this land that I (Stephen) have come to love, and the birthplace of my wife (Christy) and our children.
Thank you for letting us share this little bit of our story with you. We hope that you are encouraged to love God more and love those around you, and to live life to the fullest. Though there is sadness when we say goodbye, we know that God watches over us all. We look forward to the day when we can return, and revisit the people and places we love!
