The fourth episdoe in this series explores the history of George Frederic Handel's famous oratorio "Messiah". Originally written for Lent and Easter, "Messiah" tells the story of Christ's birth, death, and resurrection. Divided into three segments, it is the conclusion of the second segment, the "Hallelujah Chorus", that remains the most popular song of the entire work. More than just a wonderful piece of sacred music, Handel used it as a way to contribute to various charitable causes, donating proceeds to hospitals, a jail, and other causes. In keeping with Handel's wish, we are encouraged to not only hear the beauty of this music, but also to allow our lives to be changed by its powerful message.
