What is Project Pacific?
Project Pacific was announced at VMworld 2019 as a technology preview of VMware’s efforts to re-architect vSphere with native Kubernetes. It was a codename for the capabilities that would let you run modern applications, such as Kubernetes and containers, alongside virtual machines in a unified manner.
Is Project Pacific now rename to vSphere 7 -NO
Key challenges for Morden application:
Developers need a more agile way of provisioning IT, they need to wait for IT to provision. This slows down the development cycle.
VI admin is consistently busy in provisioning and supporting silos of different technology. They need to make sure the environment is having Performance, Security, Availability and they have to keep a track of the overall cost.
Another challenge is to make sure we have resource and security Isolation, Performance and Availability
