Family urge witnesses to come forward after Bacup attack
The family of a 52-year-old man brutally attacked in Bacup are urging witnesses to come forward six months after the assault.
Kirk Hutchinson, of Stacksteads, was left with life-changing injuries following an assault in the town last year.
During the evening of Monday, October 26, a number of phone calls were made to Lancashire Police reporting suspicious activity and disturbances in the Bacup area.
Around 6.50pm, a further call reported several males causing a disturbance in Gladstone Street.
Officers attended and found Mr Hutchinson lying on the pavement, unresponsive with major head injuries.
Despite making some initial arrests, the police are asking for the community’s help in arresting those responsible.
Ruth Richards, Kirk’s stepsister, Carol Hutchinson, Kirk’s stepmother, and Det Insp Andy Cribbin, of Lancashire Police, are all appealing for witnesses to come forward.
