Here are frames that had active small hive beetle and wax moth larva activity. The frames were put into the freezer for 4 hours then removed. ALL the larva are now dead and the frames are ready to be put back into the hives so the bees can finish cleaning them combs up for reuse. Frames of comb with active larva don't have to be in the freezer for 24 hours, 48 hours, days or weeks...simply a few hours and these soft body larva die. Quick and easy...beekeeping is about simplicity, not complicated rigid rules...
