What can we learn when the HIV movement and the humanitarian sector work together to enable a localised and inclusive response?
This event explored a positive example of collaboration between the HIV movement and the humanitarian sector, showcasing how Alliance for Public Health (APH)*, a leading Ukrainian civil society organisation, scaled up and shifted its focus to respond to the humanitarian crisis following the Russian invasion in February 2022. The case study reveals how a trusted national organisation with 40 years of experience in HIV programmes and links to local networks was able to draw on international humanitarian resources and expertise to more effectively reach marginalised communities.
