In the African diaspora, there was a raging wildfire in the country of Algeria ripping through the forested areas.
Algerian officials are blaming arson for the wildfire, as it killed at least 65 people, including 28 soldiers, who were tasked to fight the forest fires in the city of Tizi Ouzou.
In Sudan, they will hand over former President Omar Al-Bashir to the International Criminal Court. He faces charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Darfur Region.
Also, doctors in Senegal are battling to manage the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country. According to a San Mateo Daily Journal article, at least 500,000 of the total 16 million people in Senegal have received AstraZeneca vaccines through the United Nation-backed COVAX initiative. This program aims to provide worldwide access to the vaccine. Many people still waiting on their second doses.
