An all-electric city SUV from Skoda, the Epiq, will hit the market in 2025 and compete with gas-powered models like the CX-3 from Mazda, Stonic from Kia, and Yaris Cross from Toyota. The Czech Republic's Skoda has unveiled a concept version of the soon-to-be-produced Epiq light SUV, lending its full support to the Volkswagen Group's drive to electrify its brands. There will be six new electric Skodas hitting the market soon, one of which is a city-sized SUV. Despite its label as a "design study," its proportions and form make it appear rather showroom-ready. Based on a direct currency conversion, the expected pricing of the Epiq production from Skoda is €25,000, which would put it somewhere about A$41,000 when it is unveiled in 2025. The Epiq can fit five adults in its roomy cabin while still boasting an enormous 490 liters of storage space, an astounding 400 kilometers of driving range, and a diminutive 4.1 meter in height. And vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-load capabilities are made possible by bi-directional charging. An excellent illustration of Epiq's foray into conceptual territory is the color palette it used in this design sample. The stunning contrast between the matte metallic 'Moon White' paint scheme and the 'Flashy Orange' accent features on the roof rails, rims, and front and rear bumpers is eye-catching. There is a large multimedia display in the middle of the two-tiered dashboard, and a center console that floats freely below it. A wireless device charger is built within the console's open storage section. According to the representative from the Australian branch of the company, no announcements about the Epiq's availability in the country are in the works at this time. Notably, the Epiq, along with the VW ID.2 and Cupra Raval, will be manufactured in the VW Group's plant in Pamplona, Spain.
