Mr Chippie drives our usual 6 mile 'bad terrain for radio' test route to test this Midland 3001 from 1981 that is a customer's repair. 1.5 miles into the test, Mr C decides the workshop power supply had quite some hum on it, so the test is paused whilst I connect to a different power supply. The radio performs well around scratchy corner & continues to work well throughout the test.
Testing the radio into our Harrier base station at the end finishes with testing the customers electret microphone (also repaired) at different levels, most of which are far too loud & quite frankly '2' sounded best to my ears.
Probably have to do a video on the workshop power supply!
