Contributing artist Rosina Godwin hosts; 'Emotional Repair: The Art of Patching & Darning'
Once associated with poverty, repair can be both beautiful and sustainable, while adding to the history of the piece. In this practical workshop, attendees will learn patching and darning skills, while exploring the visual language of textiles. Holes and worn surfaces can be expression broken systems and anti-capitalist ideas, or symbolise emotional trauma, with the act of repair being a metaphor for mental healing.
**NOTE**
For the sessions participants will need:- ---- . Fabric or something to mend, plus scraps of fabric for patching Embroidery thread, sewing cotton, darning thread or soft yarn A basic sewing kit, needles, pins and scissors
