The head of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards has told protesters to end weeks’ long demonstrations during a speech at the funeral of victims of the attack carried out by Islamic State in the city of Shiraz.
Iran has been gripped by protests since the death last month of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who was in custody of the morality police, posing one of the boldest challenges to the country’s leadership since the 1979 revolution.
Iran accused the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the US State Department of playing a major role in recent protests, including cooperating with leaders in Iran's Kurdistan region.
