Amsterdam opens two new bicycle parking facilities, which are not built on or under the ground, but under water. Together they offer space for around 11,000 bicycles, making it the largest bicycle parking facility in the city. "30% of our travellers come to the station by bicycle" says Wouter Koolmees, president director of the Dutch railways, "so they must be able to park their bicycles and, in Amsterdam, this is now possible."
