Airbnb is on a death spiral. Here’s why:
Cities hate Airbnb and are outlawing them left and right. (Google: “NYC Airbnb ban”)
WHY do they hate short-term rentals? Allow me to paint you a picture:
You live next to an Airbnb.
You have a nice dinner with your family, put the kids down for bed, and are ready to watch Harvey Specter and Mike Ross hang someone out to dry.
Mid-episode, as Logan Sanders files a TRO, your walls begin to gently shake from the rhythms of trap music.
It’s Connor and his 24 Sigma Chi bros getting the weekend started, chugging Natty Light and letting their wannabe EDC DJ bro handle the aux.
When the weekend is done, they stuff 400 bottles into the recycle bin and roll out in the 6 cars haphazardly stuffed in the driveway.
The host gets a 5-star review since they overlooked the broken vase from the aggressive game of beer pong.
You, on the other hand, had a horrible weekend of incessant chanting, screaming, and off-key singing.
But now all you can do is get ready for next week’s tenant: Alpha Kappa Theta.
Ashleigh, Kayleigh, and their 32 other sisters getting ready to do tequila shots, blast Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA, and make Tiktok drafts all night.
No city wants tenants like these.
If you’re a new real estate investor, avoid Airbnb’s at all costs. 🙅🏻♂️
INSTEAD of AIRBNB’s, we’ve been shifting our gears towards MIDTERM RENTALS, which are fully furnished rentals with 30-day minimum stays.
Your tenants are working professionals - nurses, marketing consultants, and the digital nomad looking to work and live.
They’re respectful, stay for months at a time, and most likely want to watch Harvey Specter just as much as you do.
