In this video we visited Bungsamran fishing park. This is a very well-known fishing park here in Bangkok. But I must say with them doubling there fishing price in the last year from 2,000B per rod to 4,000B per rod this is in my mind now way up there in price and other options may be better for you. One rod 4000B 12 hours of fishing. Bait 600B for a big bag of Ram (ground bait) Big bucket of breadcrumbs 120B Rod real rental 500B + 2,000B deposit Net rental 60B + 200B deposit, Guide that will help you fish for around 6 hours 1,000B Bungalow 1,000B -5,000B depending on the location and size of the bungalow.
So, let’s do the math’s for one rod. Rod 4000B + bait 600b for a big bag of ram + a bucket of bread 120B (an average day’s bait) + rod and real rental 500B + guide 1,000B = 6,220B or $195. Now if you choose to fish from a bungalow you will need to add in the cost of the bungalow also. Let’s say you get the cheapest bungalow at 1,000B your days fishing is now 7,220B or $225.
keep in mind this is for one rod and you can’t fish with meat for predatory fish. At many of the western style lakes around Thailand you can fish for less than this and you will get 2 rods at some places 3 rods. Normally a carp rod and a predator rod. Giving you a lot more diversity in the fish you are likely to catch. Its defiantly something to keep in mind.
If you have never fished at Bungsamran it’s a must! However, if you have already fished here in the past then maybe it’s time you considered some other options. For myself I have a Thai work permit and a Thai driving license, so I can fish for the Thai price of 500B $15 per rod. And well this changes things. For me this can be my local lake and the price is reasonable.
